On the 6th April, some of the children on our Gifted and Talented Register took part in a challenge day. They used logical thinking and strategies to work as a team to complete different challenges with some year groups competing against visiting schools.
This term in year 4 our topic is related to ‘Living things and their habitats’. We have started our learning with a wonderful trip to Westonbirt Arboretum where the children learned all about wildlife management and sustainability of our woodlands. The children had the opportunity to experience a professional-led workshop as well as having the opportunity for some self-led exploration. Some children even managed to spot the Gruffalo….
Well done once again Year 4!
On Friday 31st March, parent’s were invited to the Year 1 café.
The children sang some African music that they had learnt over the term.
We have also been looking at the book ‘We’re Going on a Lion Hunt’. We reinacted out this story with the adults and took them out on our very scary lion hunt. No adults or children were harmed during this activity!
We then went back to our classrooms to enjoy some African lime cake and fruit kebabs.
Thank you to all that came, teachers and children alike really enjoyed the afternoon.
This term the children have been learning about fire safety. They have had the chance to build a fire and cook smores to eat. They have also had the chance to explore the Forest School’s learning environment which has ‘sprung’ to life over the last few weeks!
