Even Swindon PTA

‘A parent-teacher association (PTA) is a formal organisation composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school’.

The aim of the PTA is to organise events to raise money to pay for school equipment and resources. We have been very successful in recent events and have, in consultation with staff, facilitated the purchase of:

Meet the team

At our PTA annual general meeting, which took place in July, some fantastic new members were elected to the team. They will be organising a number of events throughout the year to raise money for our children and would like to introduce themselves to the rest of our school community:

I’m Val. I have twins in Yr 6. I’ve had the great pleasure of running the choir in school for two years. As I work for the Music Service, I am now working with Yr2 and Yr5 on music projects. I have had a connection with the school a long time, as my oldest son came here too; he is now 28! I look forward to becoming more involved with the school in these interesting times.

Role: Chairperson

I’m Charlotte and I decided to join the PTA as my eldest started reception at Even Swindon this year and I thought it would be a good way to help the children and also network with the local community. I work as an Account Manager in the Financial Services industry so have a lot of transferable skills that I hope can benefit the group.

Role: Vice Chairperson

I’m Nina. I’m a teaching assistant in our SRP unit. I’ve worked at the school for almost 18 months now and moved my children here once realising the amazing educational opportunities available to them. I’ve previously been on a PTA as the social media organiser. I enjoy being able to communicate and advocate for others.

Role: Social Media and Secretary

Hello, I’m Tegwyn and I have been connected with ES Primary School since 2006 when my eldest granddaughter started school in the old building in Hughes Street. I joined the PTA around 5 years  ago and enjoy spending time at the school helping out, especially when we are organising for the summer fete and the Christmas Fair.

Role: Events Coordinator

YOU can make a real contribution to YOUR child’s school. If you can give some of your time, we are always grateful. A helping hand at the school fete, etc, is a great contribution.

Some of our events in just the last year have been very successful, and here is a list of some of the events our school community has thoroughly enjoyed:

Becoming a PTA member is an excellent way to get to know people, become involved and make new friends. You don’t need any qualifications or experience of how the school is run in order to help.

If you can spare the time, keep your eyes peeled for updates in our newsletters – we would love to see you! Of course, if you need any details in the meantime, please email pta@evenswindon.co.uk or have a look at our Facebook page and we will be happy to advise.
