World Book Day - 5th March 2026
This year, for World Book Day on Thursday the 5th of March, we would like to invite children to either dress up as their favourite book character or wear their pyjamas to school. The two options are, in part, due to the significant cost a character costume can entail and we do not want to add any pressure to families to have to buy new outfits.
However, we are aware that many children enjoy dressing up and you may have bought a costume in the past that your child has now outgrown. If this is the case, we would like to organise a character costume upcycling session, prior to World Book Day, in order to enable as many children to dress up as possible. Due to the nature of this event, we cannot guarantee that everyone who donates a costume will be able to find a new one at our sharing event, but we would like to thank everyone in advance for your generous donations
By Thursday 26th February - Outgrown/unwanted costumes donated to school. Please bring in any costumes (in good condition) and have your child hand them to their class teacher
Friday 27th February - Costumes will be available to take from 3pm in Brunel Hall
Thursday 5th March - Costumes/pyjamas can be worn to school as part of our World Book Day celebration!
On World Book Day, we also invite parents/carers in to share stories with their children. If you are able to make it, please come along to your child’s class at 2:30pm – with a favourite children’s book in hand!
