PE will be on a Thursday for both Par and Bodmin class. Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school.

Homework Expectations
In Term 1 and 2, we expect children to practise reading their phonically decodable book daily. This is very important to support the progress of their reading. Please record this in their reading records so we can celebrate their reading milestones.
From Term 3, weekly English and Maths homework will be sent out on a Friday and will need to be returned by the following Wednesday. Weekly spelling tests will begin from term 3. Please support your children in practising their spellings.

Year 1 Highlights

Bodmin class :
- Have been exploring creating freestanding structures in DT, and creating stronger houses for the 3 little pigs.
- Have been learning about traditional tales and the story of the Three Little Pigs. They have made their own wanted posters of some bad characters and used fine motor skills to make some split pin characters.
- Geography - They have been learning about aerial maps and made their own maps of the classroom using lots of different resources.
Par Class :
- DT - Par class have been exploring how to create door hinges. they made hinges from tape and string, as well as folding.
