Reception

Term 3 Summary:

It’s been another busy and exciting term in Reception with lots of learning opportunities.

At the beginning of the term we were very surprised to find a crime scene in our classrooms – who had visited the three bears? We quickly took on the role of police detectives and were busy to hunt out and record any clues that we could find.  We found a CCTV video of a mysterious girl with golden curly hair entering the bears’ house and eating all of their porridge!

In English we have been reading the story ‘Bear Shaped’ and have been busy writing ‘missing’ posters to help Jack find his missing bear.

In Maths we have been learning about the numbers 6, 7 and 8 and have started to combine different groups and even write our own number sentences.

We’ve also been very busy carrying out our own investigations with ice and magnets – how do you melt ice? What does a magnet stick onto?

We finished the term with a ‘Teddy Take Over’ week where we brought in our teddies – they really enjoyed their sleepover in the library and we loved sharing a story with our teddy and our grown-ups when they visited for a ‘stay and play’.  A big thank you to everyone who has supported us with this!

PE days

Redruth, St. Austell and Truro classes will all have PE on a Friday.
