Friends of Even Swindon

A ‘Friends of’ association is a formal organisation composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school.

The aim of the association is to organise events to raise money to pay for school equipment and resources. We have been very successful in recent events and have, in consultation with staff, facilitated the purchase of:

A brand new sensory room
Outdoor classroom and firepit
Contribution to the allotment area, including the potting shed
New playground equipment, including climbing frames and trim trails
New playground markings
New playground resources, including lego and a mud kitchen
Y6 leavers’ celebrations
Class wet play equipment
Good to be Green Reward Activities

Meet the team

The ‘Friends of Even Swindon’ annual general meeting, took place in July. They will be organising a number of events throughout the year to raise money for our children and would like to introduce themselves to the rest of our school community:

I’m Charlotte and I decided to join the Friends of Even Swindon Association as my eldest started reception at Even Swindon and I thought it would be a good way to help the children and also network with the local community. I work as an Account Manager in the Financial Services industry so have a lot of transferable skills that I hope can benefit the group.

Role: Chairperson

Hi, I’m Emma. I’m the Business Manager at Even Swindon Primary School and currently the Treasurer of the Friends Committee. I’ve been a member of the Friends Association since 2000 when my daughter joined Even Swindon Junior School in Year 3. I was the Chair of the Committee for around 10 years from 2002, then was a committee member for a few years, taking on the role of Treasurer in 2016. I am very passionate and proud of what we are able to offer our children at Even Swindon and try to make their experiences here something for them to remember.

Role: Treasurer

YOU can make a real contribution to YOUR child’s school. If you can give some of your time, we are always grateful. A helping hand at the school fete, etc, is a great contribution.

Some of our events in just the last year have been very successful, and here is a list of some of the events our school community has thoroughly enjoyed:

Discos, including refreshments
Christmas fayre
Easter Egg Hunt
Summer fete

Becoming a PTA member is an excellent way to get to know people, become involved and make new friends. You don’t need any qualifications or experience of how the school is run in order to help.
