Bedtime stories!
The school council children have been busy recording bedtime stories for the website.

OPAL fun!
Since January, we have been introducing OPAL (an outdoor play and learning initiative) across the school. The initiative aims to increase play opportunities for children and expose them to a wider variety of play through different zones of play. Our children have enjoyed playing with scrap materials like cardboard boxes, working together to play different sports, getting creative using chalk and even having fun during wet playtimes with bubbles and brooms! World Book Day

Christmas special “Book Breakfast”
We hosted our second book breakfast and it was a fantastic turnout! Lots of families joined us for a hot drink, a bite to eat and lots of wonderful books. Thank you to those children who brought their own to share too.
Look out for our next book breakfast in the new year – we’d love to see you there.
Reading Rangers
In year 6, we have a team of ‘Reading Rangers’ who venture out across the school on a Friday afternoon to support readers from other year groups.
They approach this role with maturity and motivation and are fantastic reading role models to these children – as well as being super reading coaches.

“Book Breakfast”
In term 1 Even Swindon hosted its first ever “Book Breakfast”. Children had the opportunity to sit with their parent or carer and read a book over a hot drink and pastry. There will be another opportunity for you to take part in a Christmas themed breakfast on Tuesday 19th December. Keep an eye out for the details.
