Signal Box

Special Resourced Provision

At Even Swindon Primary School there is a Special Resourced Provision (SRP) for children with an EHCP for Speech, Language and communication as their primary need, who have a severe delay, or impairment in the development of language.

There are 15 children in the Signal Box SRP and they are taught in small classes within the unit and/or within a mainstream class. The amount of time a pupil spends in the Signal Box or in a mainstream class, is dependent on their individual needs, although all pupils spend some of their time in a mainstream classroom. Pupils will participate in special events such as assemblies and school trips, both with their mainstream class and in the Signal Box.

Individual, intensive programmes will be in place set by speech and language therapists, enabling pupils to work towards their specific outcomes. Signal Box staff also work with a team of additional professionals including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, the cognition and learning advisory support service and advisory teachers for children with hearing impairment and for the use of assistive technology.

If you would like any further information or to arrange a visit of the school, please contact the school office.

We cannot accept direct applications for places within the Signal Box SRP, responsibility for placing and funding pupils lies with the Statutory SEN team at the Local Authority.
